Our Retreat House:

MarshHaven is located in Beaufort County, North Carolina. We
have hosted several Appreciative Inquiry learning
communities here – the AI Consulting Founder’s Alliance; the
MarshHaven Institute; our Retreat for Couples; a writing
retreat. MarshHaven has proven to be a tranquil place for
creating community with time for learning, relaxing and
exploring. The house sits on 4 ½ acres of wooded marshland
on the banks of a cove off large North Creek and open water.
We have a pier with a screen house for sitting and sunning,
canoes available for exploring and fishing the beautiful
creek, and easy access to the outer banks and wonderful
wildlife preserves.
Lodging & Meals:
The
house has 7 guest bedrooms: 3 bedrooms share 2 baths
downstairs, and 4 bedrooms share 2 baths plus a large and
bright sitting area upstairs. Each bedroom has a queen-sized
or double bed. We can accommodate 7 people with private
rooms, or more if some want to share a bed or sleep in a
public area (like a pull-out couch).
Meals
are a community endeavor, with major preparation done prior
to the retreat. Particular food needs/ preferences are
accommodated on request.
Other:

MarshHaven is tranquil, a place
ideal for retreats. At best, cell phones receive very
faint signals. We have multiple High-Speed DSL connections
(wireless and plug-in) if you need email and Internet
connections. The telephone line requires a phone card for
long distance. The telephone number at MarshHaven is (252)
964-3072.
Dress
is VERY informal!

Reflections of Participants:
- “We focused on our
practice and our lives in AI. My experience was
expansive, (mind, spirit, waistline), hilarious (I'm not
the only one with weird talents) and deeply rewarding.
The setting is peaceful, the hospitality so open and
generous, with Jane and Ralph giving loving attention to
each of us as individuals-it all combined to quickly
create a real community with a sense of safety and
strong connection.“
- “So if you can use
greater focus, depth or new directions in your practice,
the MarshHaven retreat is a spectacular way to go.“
- “The group included
people with a tremendous mix of experience and talent.
In particular Bliss Browne (Imagine Chicago) just blew
me away. Her agility and creativity for designing
experiences that create transformation and community—and
how clearly she articulates her visions—literally made
my jaw drop.”
- “I enjoyed both
personal and professional breakthroughs, deeply bonded
with my work partner and developed new relationships
with terrific, talented people.”
- “I came home with new
design ideas for an upcoming AI project and a renewed
relationship with my close colleague that is so strong
we believe it creates a whole new paradigm shift for how
partners, mentors and mentees view their work and manage
the ever-changing and evolving dynamics of individual
growth and working relationships.”
- “…four of us developed
a whole new business idea and will meet shortly to
develop a business plan around the concepts originated
at this retreat--something we think is so timely and hot
it will knock your socks off!”
-
“I wholeheartedly urge you to consider
attending these great retreat offerings.”
